In April Denny Farwell came and inspected our CATS for summer maintenance and mentioned OSSA had extra money for projects or high ticket items the club might need for grooming sheds and asked me to make a wish list for the April OSSA meeting. My 3 items of request were a new snowcat to replace the 08, money to brush trails, and repairs on the roof and siding on the grooming shed. At the meeting they approved a new 2023 snowcat for us if RTP grant money can be obtained. The application has been turned in this last week, and is now in process. What we do need is club members and businesses to turn in letters of support to replace the old cat that has been in service for 13 years, which has @ 23,500 miles and 3600 hours on it. I put in for the biggest CAT possible, which should improve grooming at Tollgate, but like 2 years ago, we may not get enough money for that size of CAT. It is whatever the RTP committee will approve. RTP does require American made equipment for their grants. I also was approved by the OSSA board to repair the grooming shed. I am hoping we will get enough money to replace the roof as it is still leaking and possibly the siding as much of it is getting in poor shape. Also hope for enough money to replace the original overhead door and track. I will need a bid on this project to present to the OSSA board as soon as I can get one. Is anyone in the club interested in bidding on the repair work at the grooming shed? Let me know. Brushing work is still on hold from OSSA.
All letters of support need to come to my email address so I can forward them on to OSSA before the June 15 deadline. jessgranthompson@gmail.com
Also, anyone interested in bidding on the repairs can contact me and I will meet you on the mountain when the snow melts.
Thanks to Denny for letting me know about this, and especially to Buckshot for pushing it at the April OSSA board meeting.
Thanks,
