Grooming Report for Jan 24, 2024

On the mountain yesterday to check conditions and meet Denny to transfer the 20 cat to Halfway. Their cat has an Engine Turbo issue and could take a few weeks to get a part. Temperature at 11am was 41 degrees at the lake and at the groomer shed. The SNOTEL sites are showing above freezing day and night for over a week now and snow loss of 6 to 8 inches. We have lost 6 to 8 inches of snow at the shed and the snow pole shows 2 and half feet of snow. More snow and rain mix coming in the next couple of days than rain Saturday. Again, hopefully that will change but it doesn’t look good for any grooming to happen this week. It is statewide problem this year as the weather just won’t cooperate. I have been asked about the low country down around the Chalet, Shumway loop, but there is not enough snow down there to groom and especially by the Corwin corner along the highway to build a snow road. Keep doing your snow dance and colder Temps.
