Hello Snowmobile Friends
Our Season in Review
The 2018-2019 season turned out to be an epic snow year. At the time of
this news letter on 5-1 we still have a huge snow pack in the upper
elevations. Amazing to be able to snowmobile in May!! A brief overview of
the snow fall as per the Milkshakes Snotel site. We had a great December
starting the month with 25” and ended it with 60”. January we maintained
our snow depth and ended the month up slightly with 71”. February through
mid March brought wave after wave of precipitation and our snow depth on
3/1/2019 was 112”. We peeked on 3/13 at 119”. We didn’t quite hit our goal
of 10’ but came pretty darn close. We had unusually warm weather starting
around 3/18 and our snow pac slowly diminished to 86” on 4/09 only to get
rejuvenated over the following week ending 4/15 with 113”. Quite amazing
to raise the snow pack within 6” of the season high in mid April. That’s a lot
of data in one paragraph but it highlights our great snowmobile season.

Multi Use
This Season brought a good mix of Snowmobiles, Snow bikes and Side X
Sides. Depending on each of our circumstances and snow conditions there
are days when a warm Side x Side looks pretty good or days you want to
explore the tight trees the snow bike maybe the answer. The key is to have
patience and tolerance for the different modes of transportation and
recreation and work together for the common good of our sport on the
Mountain.

Thank You
We want to extend a special thank you to our membership that makes our
club possible, without you as members we couldn’t offer the many services
that make the snowmobile season a success. We have an awesome
grooming department that keep the many miles of trails groomed enabling
us to ride to our favorite play areas. The grooming staff is all voluntary and
their work continues through the summer months with groomer
maintenance as well as trail maintenance. Thank you Jess and Company.
A big thank you to the Board Members and Officers that keep the club
doors open. We are blessed to have such a great infrastructure at Tollgate.
We have a beautiful club house and 2 cozy warming shelters, Chapman
Bone Springs and Ruckel Junction that serve as destination points to enjoy
lunch and warm up from playing in the powder.

McCall Trip
Thank you everyone who participated in our many TTF Club sponsored
events to make the 2018-2019 season a success. We look forward to
seeing many of you this spring and summer on the work parties. It’s a great
time to get to know each other and build friendships that will carry into the
coming snow season. We welcome members and non-members to
participate in our activities. Come be a part of our Tollgate Trail Finders
Family it’s great fun that can last a life time.
