December 11 Update

On the mountain today to check snow conditions and the grooming shed. About 16 inches of snow on the ground at the moment. Three inches are new on top of the melted snow. It was 33 degrees and cloudy. Forest road 64 and 31 are still plowed and they are hauling logs during the week. We still need a big dump of snow to get the loggers out and cover the plowed roads. Also the snow is thin by Spout to Woodland for grooming over the stumps and around Tollgate area in general. The high country has a couple of feet but you still have to watch for obstacles. I walked the trail below the Kralman property to check the road after a logging operation was there this fall. The road has deep ruts and dirt piles and limbs. There are 3 trees across the road. The section of road where they logged is about 2 to 3 hundred yards long and all the trees on the north side of the road are gone. Not sure what we will see when the wind blows up out of the canyon without trees.
