I was on the mountain today to check snow conditions as we have had 7 inches of new snow. There is only a total of 11-12 inches at the groomer shed all the way up to Spout Springs. There are a few water holes exposed near the Forest Service work center and at Spout, but nothing snowmobiles can’t get around. The trail above Spout is very thin on snow, only about 6-8 inches in the trail, which does not cover the stumps. Woodland has 14-15 inches of snow. We need another good dump of snow to really get us started grooming.
The loggers are finished on 64 road, but the Forest Service has removed the road closed sign, I assume due to a lack of snow. That means wheeled vehicles will be on Jubilee Rd as well as snowmobilers.
A Tucker Snow Cat representative will be on the mountain this next week to train our drivers on the new computer system on the new CAT. Drivers have also taken their First Aid class, so they meet OSSA requirements to operate the equipment.
We are good to go when the snow comes.
