I have been on the mountain twice this week, once the first of the week and then today (Friday) to check snow conditions. According to the Sno-tel sites we have had over 1 1/2 inches of rain at the Milkshakes and a little over 1 1/4 inches of rain at High Ridge. Now it is cold at night, and it was about 30 when I was on the mountain at noon today. The trails are hard as a rock, but in good shape with small bumps and about an inch of new snow on top. We can’t really groom hard compacted snow on the trails. Off trail, the snow is still soft, but wet underneath the surface. I am sure that will harden up as it stays cold. We are hoping for new snow mid-week so we can resume grooming, and hope the temperatures stay cold.
