I went up to groom today, as information came in of down trees from the wind storm and rain on the mountain earlier this week. I groomed out Jubilee on the left side of the road all the way, removed 6 trees on Jubilee Rd, 5 trees on Skyline Road, none on Elk Trail. The snow was very hard at Tollgate, but after you got past Baldy, there was a couple of inches of new snow on top of the hard snow. There was very hard snow at Bone Springs. Snowmobiles barely made a mark in it.
The trails are in good shape as we groomed on Monday and with the rain on top they are frozen hard and smooth. We should be good for this week-end.
Watch out for trees, we have not heard of more trees down on trails so far.
It was 27 degrees when I left the groomer shed this morning, and 34 when I got back. There is rain/snow in the forecast for tomorrow (Friday).
