This month we have been working on the Snow cats, doing service work and repairs. We have put in 25 hours so far of volunteer labor. We have some more work to do as we have a track adjuster on the 08 to replace, some work on the powder bar. Thanks to the guys for the work done so far.
Thanks to Dewayne and the TTF board for the letter of support for a new groomer using RTP grant money. Also thanks goes out to Aaron Gagnon, district ranger for the Walla Walla district, for his letter of support, as well as Jeff Wagner, our new district director, and as grooming chairman I also sent a letter of support to replace the 08 snowcat. Thanks to Lisa at OSSA for all her work to get this in before the deadline. It is in the system, a decision will be made later this year. If all goes well, we will have a new snowcat in the fall of 2023.
We were awarded a grant from OSSA to replace the roof on the groomer shed, and I have obtained Kralman Steel Structures to replace the roof, hopefully before the snow flies. Supplies are slow to arrive or hard to get, but Norm thinks it can be done before winter. This will be a big improvement at the shed because for more than 10 years we have lived with constant leaks in the roof that we repair annually but it is leaking by spring. The shed belongs to the Tollgate TrailFinders Snowmobile Club, and we appreciate the help OSSA is providing on this project.
