We have been working on the groomers the last month, off and on, mostly on the 98: updated batteries, finished working on the tracks that were damaged, serviced the machine, changed engine oil and pulled fluid samples. So far we have spent 23 hours on the 98 and 8 hours on the 08, and still have work to do on the 08 to get it ready for next season. If you haven’t heard, OSSA put in for an RTP Federal grant last November to cost share a new Snowcat for Tollgate. The grant came through in April, 2019 and was finalized and signed in May. We have a new 2020 Tucker Snowcat on order, it will be much the same as the 08 except heavier duty drive train and updated cab features, including new LED lighting. It should be delivered in November. The 98 will be sold and will no longer be an OSSA grooming CAT. There is already interest from 2 different buyers. A big THANK YOU to OSSA for putting in for this and getting enough money to get a new CAT for us! I did make a trip to Medford before we ordered the CAT to make sure we got all the features that the groomer drivers requested. Thanks for the groomer drivers for all their work so far this summer. We probably have another 1/2 day to 1 day on the 08 before it is ready for winter.
Thanks,Jess Thompson, TTF grooming chairman
